These periods allow structuring the duration during which an employee must complete a certain number of training hours. They are essential because:
- They define a specific duration for employees to complete their training hours;
- They ensure that trainings are correctly added to employees' libraries;
- Without a training period, the tracking of employee training cannot be done.
Only certain roles have access to creating training periods:
- Platform Administrator;
- Training Administrator;
- Development and Training Administrator.
You can watch this explanatory video that presents the Training Periods module and its usage : Video - Explanation of the ''Training periods'' module

he creation of a training period is done from the Training Periods module, accessible in the Administration section of the platform. Then, click on Add.
Next, fill out the form by entering the information related to the training period to be created, such as:
- Provide a specific title for your training period to distinguish it when an employee is associated with two training periods ;
- Enter the start and end dates targeted by the period you are creating;
- The Preponderance represents the priority you wish to assign to the training period you are creating. The higher the number entered in this field, the higher the priority of this training period. We recommend entering a preponderance of 10 or higher for job categories whose training periods are governed by law, and a preponderance between 0 and 9 (you can also enter decimal numbers) for job categories whose training periods are not governed by law.
Assigning a preponderance to different training periods is necessary in cases where an employee has more than one job, and each job is covered by a different training period. The employee would see in their training library only the training period corresponding to their job with the highest preponderance (e.g., an employee has a teaching job with a preponderance of 10 and a TES job with a preponderance of 1, they would only see their training period for their teaching job).
Exceptional situations:- In cases where an employee has two jobs with the same preponderance, the system will then retain the job category with the training period that has the highest number of hours;
- If the number of hours is also equal, the system will retain the job category with the longest training period in terms of start and end dates;
- If the dates are also the same, the system will retain the first period created.
The Number of Required Training Hours corresponds to the number of training hours employees must complete within the defined dates for the period;
The Locked button: Locks the data compiled in this period to prevent future modifications.
For more details on this feature, you can refer to the following article: Locking a training period;Since not all job categories necessarily have the same training period, it is possible to target the different job categories to which this period should apply. This allows you to create different periods based on job categories;
Save everything once you have finished creating the training period.
